From Chaos to Confidence: Becoming a FASTer Way Coach

Hey there! I'm Meg, and if you're anything like me—a busy mom trying to juggle countless responsibilities while also striving for consistency in nutrition and fitness—then you might relate to the journey I've been on. As a wife and mom of two active boys, I understand the struggle of finding the time and energy to prioritize my health amidst the chaos of daily life.

Like many others, my journey towards a healthier lifestyle wasn't linear. It took a significant turning point to make me realize that I needed a change. After the upheaval of COVID, I found myself exhausted, both physically and mentally. After returning to the office, I realized quickly my business clothes were too tight. Social interactions with other people were stressful, and I could barely make it through a day at the office. My initial thought was to head to the gym, but years of quick-fix diets and a sedentary lifestyle had left me feeling drained and desperate for a sustainable solution.

That's when I discovered the FASTer Way program—a holistic approach to health and wellness that goes beyond just shedding pounds. It was a revelation for me, offering not only a way to improve my diet but also a roadmap to a more balanced and fulfilling life.

One of the biggest challenges I faced was navigating food sensitivities. It seemed like every meal was a minefield, and I often felt defeated before I even took a bite. But with the guidance of FASTer Way, I learned how to embrace whole foods and build meals that nourished my body without triggering discomfort. It was a game-changer for me and my family, especially with a husband and kids who were always on the go.

My family enjoys sit-down dinners as often as our busy schedule allows. Learning to build healthy AND quick meals that we all enjoyed seemed like it was going to be more of a challenge than a possibility. After engaging with FASTer Way as a client, I quickly learned several new recipes—many of which my family was asking me to add to our regular rotation. They loved them so much! Score!

Another hurdle I had to overcome was my reliance on unhealthy coping mechanisms, like reaching for a glass of wine to unwind after a long day. I feel like I need to be brutally honest here - in my own personal journey I had to completely give up alcohol to achieve new coping strategies. In the beginning I thought I would be able to handle a glass here or there, or in social situations, but it typically ended in more than one drink and then telling myself I would start over again tomorrow, followed by desserts, snacks, and more. Through FASTer Way, I discovered healthier ways to manage stress, and gradually, those old habits began to lose their grip on me. I rarely will enjoy an alcoholic beverage, but now that I don’t drink regularly, I find that one drink is more than enough and oftentimes, less than enjoyable as it leaves me feeling yucky.

And let's not forget about exercise. As a self-proclaimed "cardio queen," I used to spend hours pounding away on the treadmill, only to end up with nagging injuries. But FASTer Way showed me that there's a smarter way to work out—one that focuses on strength training and functional movement. It not only helped me avoid further injury but also laid the foundation for a more active lifestyle for my entire family.

Perhaps the most rewarding part of this journey has been watching the ripple effects it's had on my loved ones. My husband has joined me in my workouts, and my boys have become more conscious of what they put into their bodies—without my prompting! This is by far one of my proudest moments as a parent. We've become a team, supporting each other as we strive for better health and wellness.

But my journey doesn't end there. In fact, it's just beginning. As a FASTer Way coach, I now have the opportunity to pay it forward—to share what I've learned with others who are struggling just like I was. It's a flexible side hustle that allows me to make a difference in the lives of others while also pursuing my passion for health and wellness.

So if you're tired of spinning your wheels with quick fixes and crash diets, I invite you to join me on this journey. Together, we can rewrite our stories, reclaim our health, and inspire those around us to do the same.

Let's make healthy living a lifestyle, not a trend. 🌿💪✨
