What I’ve Learned in One Year: Finding Balance in Health and Life as a Busy Mom

It’s hard to believe that I’m coming up on a year since launching MINTFit! Looking back, I see so much growth—not just in my business, but in myself. If you’re anything like me, juggling life as a mom, a partner, and someone who’s trying to stay healthy, you know that balance doesn’t come easy. But it is possible, one small step at a time.

In this post, I want to share what I’ve learned during this past year, both as a business owner and a busy mom on her own health journey. I hope my experiences help you realize that, no matter how busy or overwhelmed you feel, there’s always a way to make progress—both in your life and in your health.

  1. Consistency Over Perfection When I started MINTFit, I had a vision of how everything would go smoothly—kind of like when we start a new diet, thinking we’ll follow it perfectly. Spoiler alert: That didn’t happen! What I learned is that consistency, not perfection, is the real key to success. Whether you’re building a business or trying to lose weight, it’s about showing up, doing the work, and forgiving yourself when things don’t go as planned. Progress comes from persistence.

    • If your week goes off the rails, don’t give up. Do what you can, when you can. Even if it’s just 10 minutes of movement or prepping one meal in advance, it counts! And if you're struggling with consistency, my program offers simple, actionable steps that fit into your busy life. You don’t have to figure it out alone.

  2. Time Is Never "Right"—You Have to Make It Work The first six months were filled with busy days and nights—sound familiar? I realized early on that waiting for the perfect time wasn’t going to work. Whether it’s launching a business or trying to prioritize your health, there’s always something—whether it’s a school event, a work deadline, or plain old exhaustion. But the truth is, you have to make the time, even when it feels like there’s none.

    • You don’t need hours in the gym or in the kitchen to see results. Focus on the small windows of time you do have—maybe it’s doing a quick workout while the kids are at practice or meal prepping for just a few days instead of the whole week. That’s why I designed my program to work with your schedule, not against it. You’ll get flexible, easy-to-follow workouts and meal plans that fit your life as a busy mom.

  3. Community Is Everything One thing that’s kept me going through the busy, stressful moments is the incredible support from this community. Moms supporting moms, women supporting women—whether it’s through our accountability groups, VIP emails, or social posts, it reminds me that we’re all in this together. We thrive when we lift each other up, and that’s true for health as much as business.

    • If you’re struggling to stay motivated, lean on your support system. Whether it’s joining our online group or finding an accountability partner, having people in your corner makes all the difference. My program offers that support through our accountability groups, and I’d love to help you get started.

  4. You Don’t Have to Sacrifice Health for Success As a busy mom and business owner, it’s easy to let your health take a backseat to everything else. But one thing I’ve learned this year is that when I put my health first, I’m better for everyone around me—my family, my clients, and my business. You deserve to feel good in your body and proud of the time you’re investing in yourself. You can’t pour from an empty cup!

    • Make your health a priority—even if it feels selfish. It’s not. The better you feel, the more energy and confidence you’ll have for all the other roles you juggle. When you prioritize your health through consistent habits, like the ones I teach in MINTFit, you’ll not only feel better but see the physical results you’ve been craving.

This past year with MINTFit has taught me so much about balancing the chaos of life while still making progress on my goals. It’s not about perfection or waiting for the “right” moment—it’s about showing up, being consistent, and leaning on your community for support.

So if you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, just remember that we’re all in this together. You can make time for yourself and your health, even in the busiest seasons. I’m excited to continue helping you on this journey, and if you’re ready to finally put yourself first, join the program now and see how easy it can be.
